I have recently noticed that my time spent worshiping God has been decreasing. I am part of a few Bible reading plans on the YouVersion Bible app and a recent theme that has come up in the passages I am reading is that I must remain humble and put God first. I must put God first and obey his word.
I must not let anything or anyone take God’s place. I feel that when I worship it helps me to shift my focus back to God. I like to worship God by listening to music but it also involves my lifestyle.
I aim to be honest in these posts so that is why I share areas I need to improve on and I hope it will help you if you are struggling in this area as well.
I wrote a poem called “Lifted High” a few years ago and it is what I need to hear today. I hope it will encourage you today as well.
Lifted High (Original Poem)
When you are lifted high
Sorrow has no hold on me.
Though raging seas abide
Your peace is over me.
When you are lifted high
The chains break away.
The ties that once did bind,
Will surely fall away.
Jesus I will lift you high
Your power is unending
You are constant for all time
Be lifted high forever.
