The verse of the month for November is

“In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” – 1 Thessalonians 5:18 (King James Version)

When I really stop to reflect on this verse it really hits me hard. I realize that this is telling me to be thankful in every situation and for everything that happens. This can be easy when things are going good but it can be very hard during hard times.

In order to be able to thank God in every season I need to completely trust God and not rely on my own understanding.

I may see something as a failure in my life but I must trust that there is a good reason for why things turn out the way they do in life. This is a lesson that I am still learning. I am learning not to complain and I am trying not to get down when things do not go my way.

I must also learn to be humble before God and just leave it all in his hands. I can not control anything in the end.

I must remember that God is good and that his ways are best. God is always good and he will not fail me even when I see failure in my life. I must trust God and believe that things will turn out to be good at the end.

I will try to memorize this verse this month and I hope it will help change my attitude and help me to truly be thankful in every season of my life whether it is a good or bad time. This takes complete faith in God each day.

I hope that this short reflection has encouraged you today to focus on having an attitude of thanksgiving in every season of life. I will be working on this for years but each day counts. What are 3 things you are thankful for today? Leave it in the comments below.
