Reflections: Offering Gratitude (Thoughts on the Song “Gratitude” by Brandon Lake)

Silhouette of a person standing outdoors with arms raised high above their head. The sun is either rising or setting in the background, creating a soft glow and casting a long shadow in front of the person. The atmosphere feels peaceful and uplifting, with the sky gradually transitioning from brighter near the horizon to a deeper blue higher up. There are some details of grass along the ground, but the overall focus is on the solitary figure and the expansive sky.

When I stop and reflect on all that God has done I feel that my words of thanksgiving are not even enough. God is so good and I wonder how can I ever thank him enough.

The song “Gratitude” by Brandon Lake reflects on this but it also reminds me that God is happy with my praise and that is enough. I can never repay God for what he has done but he loves to receive my praise and worship.

I am thankful for salvation. I am thankful that God sent his son Jesus Christ to take our place on the cross and die in our place. He rose back to life and you and I can have salvation from hell and have everlasting life by putting faith in what he has done and asking to be saved. Here are some Bible verses on praising God and thanksgiving.

“Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.” – Psalm 100:4 (King James Version)

“O come, let us sing unto the Lord: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation. Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms. For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods.” – Psalm 95:1-3 (King James Version)

“Now therefore, our God, we thank thee, and praise thy glorious name.” – 1 Chronicles 29:13 (King James Version)

I hope that this song will encourage you today and that you will praise God in Thanksgiving for all he has done.
